The Small Town Revitalization, STR, is a community-focused placemaking and revitalization program supported by the Small Town Center.

When will the application be available?
- The Small Town Revitalization application is available now and is due by August 23, 2024.
Does the survey count as my application?
- No, but you must take the survey to be eligible to apply for STR funding. The STR survey is available here.
What qualifies as a “small” town? How do I know if my town is eligible?
- Any town or community in Mississippi is eligible to apply.
Can I submit applications for multiple projects?
- Yes! However, only one project per community will be selected.
When will I know if my town was selected?
- We will announce funding recipients on September 16, 2024.
How many communities will be chosen?
- This depends on needs identified in the surveys and how much funding is needed to meet those needs.
If my community is selected, when will funding be available and work on my project start?
- Once we select the recipients of the STR funding, we will work with each individual community to develop a timeline that fits their project. We will be working with funding recipients at varying times over the next 3 years.
How much money will communities receive?
- This depends on a lot of factors. We will describe the rubric in the application process.
